Pokémon Café Outside of Tokyo and Osaka

Everyone knows that the only real Pokémon Cafés are in Tokyo and Osaka. In addition, there is Pikachu Sweets in Tokyo. But what if I told you that it is possible to have Pokémon themed food and sweets almost anywhere in Japan? This is now possible thanks to the collaboration between Pronto restaurants and Pokémon. This is great because getting to the official Pokémon Cafés can be a real pain in the derrière. 🙂

Pronto Restaurants as Pokémon Cafés

Pokémon Café inspired menu in Pronto in Amu Mall in Fukuoka

There seems to be a good coverage of Prontos all over Japan, so regardless of where you are, you will have a great chance of getting your hands on some Pokémon themed food and sweets. It is to be noted that this is only a limited time collaboration, so you should hurry up to make the most of this deal. Then again, there will be more collaborations in the future – it is not that long time ago Kura Sushi was offering Pokémon themed goods and desserts.

Food and Beverages à la Pokémon Café

I ordered a Pikachu themed mango smoothie, a Dragonite themed spaghetti and a Clodsire inspired chocolate cake. The menu didn’t come cheap as every item was way above 1000 JPY. I can come up with several cheaper meal options in Japan easily. But what wouldn’t a Pokémon trainer do for Pikachu?

Pikachu themed smoothie had a lot more ice than smoothie

The smoothie was expensive and had barely anything to drink. There were several big ice cubes inside, so totally not worth the money.

Dragonite spaghetti that did not taste too good

I don’t have anything good to say about the Dragonite spaghetti. There was just spaghetti and two sauces. Maybe two mushrooms and three pieces of meat, that’s about it. Extremely disappointing.

Clodsire chocolate cake worthy of Pokémon Café

I really liked the Clodsire chocolate cake. It was delicious and there were no disappointing surprises. It was super yummy!

Freebies

It turned out that for every Pokémon themed item you order, you will get a random gift. They aren’t much but better than nothing.

Pokémon Café or not

This limited time collaboration with Pronto does bring some Pokémon Café vibes to other cities in Japan. At any rate, this is rather faraway from the Pokémon Cafés in Tokyo and Osaka. One thing is similar – insanely high prices and crappy freebies. I just can’t help myself when Pikachu tells me to do stuff…
